From New South Wales to Indonesia and Brazil, this past round of Quick Response Grants will be taking regional Western Australian creatives around the world, supported by $8,930 in funding.

The Quick Response Grant is a Regional Arts Fund, an Australian Government program managed through Regional Arts Australia and delivered through Regional Arts WA, benefitting regional artists, arts organisations, and communities to take up professional or skills development opportunities, or respond to small project opportunities that arise at short notice.

Congratulations to this round’s recipients:

Adelina Larsson Mendoza | South West | $3,000

for ‘Indonesian Dance Festival’ in Jakarta, Indonesia

Adelina will have the opportunity to strenghten international relationships, expand professional networks, and foster future artistic exchanges between Indonesia and regional Western Australia, informing new creative programs and community engagement initiatives (as part of the Australian dance sector delegation with STRUT Dance).

Annette Carmichael | Great Southern | $3,000

for ‘Groundswell 2026’ in Tathra, NSW

Annette will present a case study and workshop at the national symposium for regional arts leaders, share innovative and collaborative methodologies, build national partnerships, stengthen creative leadership skills, and contribute to conversations about regional practise.

Annette is also featured as RAWA’s Artist of the Month for October 2026.

Bernadette Trench-Thiedeman | Kimberley | $2,930

for the ‘LABVERDE Speculative Ecologies Residency’ in the Amazon region, and the ‘Kaaysa Art Residency’ in Boiçucanga, Brazil.

Bernadette will undertake the LABVERDE Speculative Ecologies Residency in the Brazilian Amazon and lead community arts workshops through the Kaaysa Artist Residency in Boicucanga. Through collaboration with artists, scientists and communities affected by climate disasters, the project explores resilience, ecological repair and climate justice while strengthening international partnerships.

Help us get more regional artists out there!

This AusArt Day, we’re raising money for our new regional artist travel fund, Get Me There.

Each year, Regional Arts WA fields requests to help artists get where the opportunities take them. Get Me There is a streamlined grant program built to fund exactly that: flights, fuel, insurance and accommodation. Artists will be able to apply, with application details to come.

Our goal is to raise $10,000. Every dollar raised goes straight to WA regional artists through this program. A small investment, an incredible return: bigger careers, stronger regions and a more connected WA arts sector.
