Western Australia is enormous. For a regional artist, the distance between their home and an opportunity can be many thousands of kilometres. A gallery opening in Perth, a residency interstate, a meeting overseas that could change their career: each one comes with flights, fuel, accommodation and time away from work and family.

This AusArt Day, Regional Arts WA is launching the Get Me There fund to help close that gap.

What is AusArt Day?

Created by Creative Australia, AusArt Day is a national day of giving to the arts. On Thursday 22nd October 2026, artists and arts organisations across the country are inviting Australians to back the creativity they love.

What is the Get Me There grant?

Get Me There is designed to get more artists from their homes in regional Western Australia to the exhibitions, residencies and rooms that matter. Our goal is to raise $10,000, which will go directly to regional WA artists to help cover the cost of getting there.

Artists will be able to apply for Get Me There funds; with the application process designed to be as quick and pain-free as possible! More details on how to apply will follow our AusArt Day campaign.

Meet our artist ambassadors

We have some incredible artists who have volunteered their time to support our cause: stay tuned to our social media accounts for more.

How you can help

On Thursday 22nd October, you can:

  • Donate at givenow.com.au/get-me-there-rawa. Every dollar goes towards getting a regional artist where they need to be.
  • Share the campaign with #AusArtDay and #GetMeThere.
  • Partner with us. If your business would like to support artist travel, contact [name and email].

Regional artists need a way to get to the big opportunities. Help us give it to them.
