Mohammed ‘Ayo Busari’ has been an artist since he joined the art’s club in primary school. He is an award-winning Visual Artist, Community Arts Producer, Writer, Performer, Youth Arts Curator & Disability Support Worker. Ayo is a graduate of Journalism & Media (BA Hons) from the University of Hertfordshire (England) and Screen Arts (MArts) from Curtin University.

He currently works at The Blue Room Theatre as the Communications Coordinator. Before coming to WA, he worked for various art industries as a freelance visual artist, event producer and media manager in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. He also runs his media & creative businesses – The TOOL Event & Mobus Entertainment. He uses both businesses to promote, program and platform local artists and arts in WA.

Ayo has curated, produced, and marketed multiple projects, from festivals to theatre shows, from exhibitions to live music gigs, community events to workshops, with the aim of celebrating and embracing various artists from different walks of life.

He has done freelance work, offered his skills and consultancy services to organisations like Propel Youth Arts, Perth Festival, Centre for Stories, AWESOME Arts and more. He has also been a part of The Blue Room Theatre – Artist Advisory Committee, Propel Youth Arts – KickstART Festival Committee and Perth Festival – Young Voices, all of which he did for two years consecutively. He currently sits on the board for Western Australian Youth Theatre Company (WAYTCo).
