Kaya,

As we settle into Makuru, the season of renewal and deep nourishment, we find ourselves in a time of quiet energy and possibility. Traditionally, this is a period of fertility – when ideas are held, shaped and begin to gather strength – much like the momentum sparked at the 2026 Regional Arts Network Gathering. As people once moved inland during this season, drawn together by place and purpose, so too did our network come together, creating space for connection, replenishment and the gestation of new ideas.

This edition reflects that spirit, bringing together insights, opportunities and updates that speak to both where we’ve been and what lies ahead. It is also a significant moment for the small to medium sector, with many now focusing on applications for the State Government’s Creative Organisations Multi-Year Programs, due early August. As this season of renewal unfolds, we hope this newsletter offers both support and inspiration as you shape your next steps and future possibilities.

With warm regards,

Dr Pilar Kasat
