Outback Prac connects university students with arts organisations across regional Western Australia through supported industry placements.
It’s an opportunity to build hands-on experience, develop professional networks, explore life in regional communities and gain insight into careers in arts and culture, all while contributing to meaningful local projects.
Whether you’re interested in arts administration, community arts, events, communications, cultural development or creative practice, Outback Prac offers a chance to take your learning beyond the classroom.

Through the Regional Arts Network (RAN), you’ll have access to a diverse network of arts organisations across regional Western Australia.
These organisations play an important role in supporting creativity, community connection and cultural development throughout their regions. Outback Prac placements provide an opportunity to learn from experienced arts professionals, contribute to real projects and build valuable industry connections.
