Under the glow of the Kimberley moon, The Shorebird Quest took flight once more on May 20 2023. This magical musical blends illuminated puppetry, storytelling, and dance to celebrate the incredible journey of endangered migratory shorebirds from Siberia to Broome.
Created in collaboration with Yawuru Rangers and Country Managers, the performance brings Yawuru Country knowledge to life through a romantic-comedy lens. With hundreds of local performers and strong community partnerships, this cross-cultural event is a vibrant tribute to nature, culture, and connection.
Proudly supported by Regional Arts WA, local and national partners, including the RISE Fund, WA State NRM Program, and the Shire of Broome.
The Shorebird Quest presented a blend of original music scores, school choirs, over 300 puppets, captivating storytelling, and vibrant dance.
