As Project Officer – Arts Development, Emmaline will focus on providing support to the organization’s Regional Arts Sector Investment (RASI) funded arts organisations.

Emmaline has a background living and working in regional areas. Raised in the Great Southern, She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) degree and is now based in Geraldton (Jambinu).

With experience working in art, regional development, and government roles, Emmaline brings a wealth of expertise to Regional Arts WA including working with First Nations and regional artists. She established the Shire of Yalgoo Arts & Cultural Centre and most recently co-founded Geraldton Open Studios & Surrounds which saw strong visitation, engagement and sales for local Artists.

Emmaline is also an Artist, inspired by Homi K. Bhabha’s teachings. She employs Bhabha’s Third Space theory as a basis for cross-cultural exchanges where pre and post colonial knowledge, values and customs can be safely shared. Her practice is interested in how we understand and exist in society, considering the connection between place, relationships and memory.

 

In her role, Emmaline will be tasked with coordinating the RASI investment program, identifying regional needs and implementing initiatives which foster the growth and vitality of the regional arts sector.
