Barbara Bynder

Barbara Bynder is Ballardong, Whadjuk Nyoongar with connections to Yued and Wagyl Kaip people. She is based in York and is an active member of the Nyoongar community in the regions as well as the City of Perth. Barbara is currently the Co-Chair for the Cultural Advisory Committee for the City of Perth, a member of the Ballardong Elders and has facilitated the Whadjuk Elders Female cultural authority group for the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Barbara is also a practicing artist, a panel member for the Australia Council for the Arts, and an alumni of the British Council Indigenous Creative Leadership Program. She currently works as an Indigenous consultant with Development WA and teach Culture to Culture and Aboriginal Australian Art for Curtin University, OUA Program. She also worked at Berndt Museum, Yarliyil Aboriginal Art centre at Hall’s Creek, and Nagula Jarndu Aboriginal Women’s art centre in Broome.
