Pundara Hip Hop Project

Gemma Robins

Pundara Performance Group partnered with YMCA Perth to deliver an interdisciplinary community arts and cultural development project for young people across the Gascoyne communities of Carnarvon, Burringurrah and Gascoyne Junction. The young people designed and drove the project alongside  professional artists Scott Griffiths, Matt Jenkins, Joel Crane, Poppy van Oorde-Grainger, Janine Oxenham, Candice Dia and Anton Blume.

The artists facilitated a series of workshops with the young people and created an original hip hop track and music video filmed at natural locations around Carnarvon.  The resulting music video was showcased across the region at the 2014 Gascoyne in May festivals and screened at the 2014 Fringe World.
