Drug Aware Brunswick on the wall

Young people in Brunswick Junction engaged professional artist Andrew Frazer to deliver workshops upskilling participants in urban art through the project Drug Aware Picture This.

The skills developed ranged from basic drawing  and  brush techniques to medium development as well as learning how to plan and design a large scale art piece while working collaboratively.

The workshops skills were realised on a mural by the Brunswick River.  The participants unexpectedly learnt new ways to paint outdoors with tarps for protection as rain poured down during the painting.

A community celebration was held in May 2014 for the unveiling of the mural.
