Drug Aware Youth Fusion Mega-Fest

Drug Aware Youth Fusion Mega-Fest

Regional Arts WA

During Youth Week 2022, young people in Waroona came together for the Drug Aware Youth Fusion Mega-Fest to try their hand at a bunch of new experiences.

Attendees developed their creative skills in face painting and skateboard deck painting with workshops facilitated by talented young members of their community. There were live music performances, a drumming circle, indoor inflatables, interactive photo booths, chill out areas and even a virtual reality and gamer realm to check out!

“Our event aimed to celebrate the active youth members in our community and acknowledge their contributions as volunteers involved in local community or sporting clubs. We celebrated local artists and created a space where they could express their artistic elements and develop their leadership skills by being actively involved.

Our event enabled our youth  project coordinators to feel empowered and create an awesome event. Establishing the Youth Advisory Council was an awesome opportunity for youth members to showcase their skillset and drive an awesome project.

Art always brings individuals together after difficult times, across the entire world. It was fantastic we were able to create an event that was interconnected with artistic elements.”
