Brighten up Brunswick Tennis Club

Brighten up Brunswick Tennis Club

Regional Arts WA

The Brunswick Tennis Club engaged young local artist and art teacher Melissa Fry to ‘brighten up’ the Club building.

Melissa worked with the junior tennis players to design artworks for the interior and exterior walls of the clubhouse before bringing their ideas to life by painting their murals. Every junior member of the club, and many of their parents, also painted individual bricks inside the clubhouse and drew their name and individual designs on these bricks – a ‘forever’ piece of them in the history of the club and the town.

“Think of fun – because we have used all the brightest colours you could imagine.  These amazing colours really highlight what Brunswick is – exciting and fun. These colours looked almost cartoony – and they really hit the juniors, making them excited when they come into the club. We have also had feedback that it is very welcoming.”
