2022 Dalyellup Street Party

2022 Dalyellup Street Party

Regional Arts WA

The Dalyellup Street Party was held during Youth Week 2022, bringing a diverse and multicultural community together to support and inspire young people.

The Street Party provided an avenue for young people and local businesses to enjoy the Easter School Holidays after the cancellation of the Bunbury Show. People were invited to participate in a variety of art workshops including painting, gardening, circus, photography and upcycled fashion. Young local musicians were given the chance to perform to the celebratory crowds, and visitors could enjoy the tasty treats from local south west food trucks and market stallholders.

During the event, the Project Coordinators also helped launch the Dalyellup Big Chair Project, attracting visitors from all around.

“[Our Project] brought the community together with a free and fun event which supported the youth with new opportunities for learning and fun, through facilitated workshops, community activities and performances on stage. It gave our next generation of youth leaders the opportunity to be heard with their ideas, see all the work that’s involved in putting on a community event, and then helping deliver the event on the day. It was a success and we had a great turn out; All facilitators had participants in their workshops and activities were very popular.”
