Expression of Interest – Call for Presenters – Mid West Creative Ecology Summit 2025
We are calling for artists, practitioners, researchers and specialists who are willing to share their experience, ideas, and case studies happening in or relevant to the Mid West region of Western Australia. The Mid West Creative Ecology Summit is a one-day event on Thursday, 6 February 2025 in Geraldton that will bring together the creative community to strengthen relationships, cross-sector learning and explore what makes up the Mid West’s unique creative ecology.
Submissions that demonstrate scale and depth of creative work, storytelling, research, information sharing, new idea generation, or cross-sector collaboration and achievements are most desirable. Topics of the Summit 2025
The summit will focus on the key topic of creative ecology, which is the dynamic interaction of people, ideas, resources, institutions and spaces that nurture and sustain creativity, innovation and cultural production. Presentations for the EOI can be related to the areas of:
Convergence of art, creativity and….
… Country, culture, place, humanity, environment, tourism, health, heritage, science, logic, buildings, resilience or language.

About the event
This event is possible because of a partnership with the Mid West Development Commission, support from the Minderoo Foundation through the Regional Arts Network, and core funding to Regional Arts WA from the WA State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and Lotterywest. Sessions will include traditional presentations, hands-on workshops and panel discussions. The program is being developed in collaboration with an advisory group that includes representatives from MWDC, the City of Greater Geraldton, Geraldton Regional Art Gallery, Museum of Geraldton, Yamaji Art, and North Midlands Project.
The event is expected to bring together 120-150 people within the arts and culture sector, allied sectors and interest groups. It is planned to be held at the Queens Park Theatre and will be recorded and livestreamed to enable attendance beyond the in-person capacity.
