Forum | Activation of Open Space Through Arts & Culture

Gemma Robins

Thursday 20 August 2015 | 9:00am to 4:00pm | WA State Library, Perth WA

Arts and culture is being considered as the catalyst for activation in open space design and planning to cater for the needs of changing populations.  The interpretation, expression and competing demands of open space are immense. The need to strategic plan, consider and justify inclusion of art and culture for all are more than ever being asked of open space/leisure planners and urban designers/activators.

Participants will experience case studies, benchmarks, wins/losses and will take away the ability to contribute and meaningfully engage with planners, designers and work towards well-activated and inclusive communities.

Who Should Attend:  Open Space Planners; Landscape Architects, Urban Designers; Arts, Culture and Events Officers, Community Development Officers and Managers; Parks Co-ordinators and Managers; local government officers, elected members and those who are responsible or contribute to the planning and activation of open space, public art, history and/or cultural events.
