Multi – Media Project | Arts and Culture Christmas Island

Regional Arts WA

In June 2016 Arts and Culture Christmas Island delivered the Multi Media Project. The completion of one of the main elements of the project was photography workshops conducted by Alan Hill and Kelly Hussey-Smith over an intensive eight-day period.

The main workshop content was:

Instagram @everydayChristmasIsland – using only their smartphones the participants communicated a vision of their community through photography, with skills development in image-making and storytelling. During this period the Instagram page was established, providing an international platform to continue to share photos and local stories.

Photographic Storytelling – skills development across all facets of photography, amongst them: working with available and artificial lighting; visual language and composition; editing, sequencing and narrative; printing and output considerations.
