Guest Curator – City of Joondalup

Guest Curator – City of Joondalup

Gemma Robins

The City of Joondalup is seeking to engage a guest curator to carry out a visual art exhibition as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations in June / July, 2015.

This is a great opportunity for an Aboriginal Curator or Visual Artist who seeks to present an exhibition of Indigenous Art in accordance with their own vision that fits within a wider programme of engagement with the community.

Working alongside the City’s Curator, you will be responsible for bringing your own unique perspective and ideas to the table, and for carrying out the creative direction of a highly professional and well-resolved exhibition. It is expected that you will make use of your own networks in alignment with your own practice and career pathway, and importantly, have an influence over the 2015 NAIDOC public programme and the ways that the city engages and educates the local community about Indigenous art and culture. You should also be willing to write the catalogue essay and be available to speak at the opening event.

Applications are due by Wednesday 17, December, 2014.
