Dawn covered the following topics in the workshop:

Gary Cooper and Debbie Carmody from Tjuma Pulka Aboriginal Corporation are in the final planning stages of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder week long NAIDOC celebrations to take place in early July. They found the content of the workshop very valuable in prompting them to think about some aspects of event management in more detail. As a result of their participation, Tjuma Pulka has been introduced to the benefits of have a visual display of their event. One outcome of the workshop for the media organisation is a Gantt chart, which clearly communicates everything they need to do to achieve their event vision. They are also developing a risk management plan.

This skills development workshop has been made possible with funding from the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions, Regional Grants Scheme. This event is managed by Country Arts WA delivering skills development in the region.
