Australian Rural Leadership Program

Gemma Robins

Australia Council Scholarship

The Australia Council has partnered with the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation to support established, high-performing regional arts leaders to participate in the Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP).

The Program

The Australian Rural Leadership Program is designed for individuals who will lead rural, regional and remote Australia into the future. It offers a series of experiential sessions during which participants are immersed in diverse, effective leadership practice and perspectives. Through the Program, participants increase their knowledge and understanding of major themes affecting regional Australia and contemporary issues both locally and internationally.

Graduates of the program join a pool of almost 900 leaders from various industries across the country, united by their passion for and commitment to regional Australia.

The ARLP involves up to 54 days of face-to-face contact spread over 15 months. The next program will take place between August 2016 and October 2017.

The Scholarship

An Australia Council Scholarship of $50,000 (excl GST) will support a high-performing and established regional arts leader to participate in the ARLP. One Australia Council Scholarship will be available for the ARLP intakes in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
