Next Gen Arts Grant

The Next Gen Arts grant program offers support for employing regional artists to deliver arts activities for regional young people aged between 12 and 18.

Grants of up to $3,000 are available for arts activities commencing after 1 July 2024 (Round 1), and after 1 October 2024 (Round 2). Activities must be completed by 30 June 2025. 

Applications to this program can be submitted by regional local governments, arts organisations, youth centres and other organisations who can demonstrate that there is demand from the target group (12-18 year olds) for arts projects within regional WA. Next Gen Arts aims to increase access to quality youth arts activities, support employment of regional artists, grow arts connections between regions and add to the liveability of regional communities. 


What kind of projects can be funded? 

Activities designed for and/or by young people aged 12-18, for example as part of a school holiday program or an after school/weekend workshop series. These activities could include art workshops, masterclasses, community events, or productions across any artform. Examples include, but are not limited to: 

  • Costume design 
  • Dance 
  • Film/Animation 
  • Music 
  • New media 
  • Photography 
  • Scriptwriting 
  • Spoken word 
  • Street art 
  • Textiles 
  • Theatre 
  • Visual art 

Projects should be inclusive and open for all young people aged 12 to 18.

Submit your final application through SmartyGrants by the closing date. 

STEP FIVE
Regional Arts WA will let you know if your application is successful in June and October each year.

Eligibility

Regionally based organisations offering activities to people aged 12 - 18 years old in the regions.

*Funding must be used to cover Artist and/or Artworker fees and travel costs
