YCulture Tote Bag Competition

YCulture Tote Bag Competition

Want to see your artwork printed on a tote bag and win a $400 gift card*?

Having social connections, good personal relationships and being part of a community are vital to maintaining mental health. The last couple of years have been challenging for everyone, and it’s more important than ever to check-in with your mates. From coffee dates and chilling at the skate park, to video games and even sharing memes. There are so many ways to stay connected.

Share your artwork with us and tell us the creative ways you stay connected with your mates for your chance to win a $400 gift card (that can be spent anywhere in Australia where Mastercard is accepted) and the opportunity to design the next Drug Aware YCulture Regional Tote Bag!

Winner

We were impressed by the quality of all the entries we received, and loved taking the time to see all your artworks and answers. There are some amazing young creatives in our regions!

Congratulations go to Samantha (18) of Bunbury who is the winner of our 2022 YCulture Tote Bag competition, with this gorgeous digital artwork and answer below.

Digital painting of a girl with dark hair standing next to her dog. They look out into a landscape of blues, oranges and yellows. Winning artwork, courtesy of the Artist.

“The number one way for me and my mates to connect is by hanging out outside: whether it be in parks, beaches or even just our backyards. I reckon the outdoors is a great way to focus on the present as you listen to the rustling leaves on a gum tree or the cries of cockatoos. Plus, who doesn’t love fresh air? This allows all of us to relax, take our minds off the business of life (especially Year 12) and talk about whatever’s on our mind.

When I was isolating for COVID, it was pretty hard not being with my mates. Sure, we could video call each other, but it wasn’t quite the same as being in person. That’s when I found that my best mate can be found right at my home. My dog Courage has been my best friend ever since we adopted him as a rescue dog last year. He’s a lively pit bull with a knack for cuddles. The best part is, whenever I’m stressed or anxious, he’s always there at my side.”
