Wild Cards | Manjimup
Six artists from different communities working in different mediums will join together next week to present the exhibition, ‘Wild Cards’, at the Manjimup Art Gallery as part of the Pemberton Unearthed Festival 2018.
Dates: April 29th to May 26th
The evolution of the exhibition has been an opportunity for artists from Manjimup, Pemberton, Bridgetown and Roelands to connect collaboratively in the development and public presentation of artworks inspired in some way by the unique diversity of the South West region.
Anna Czerkasow (Pemberton), Sue Bradshaw (Manjimup) and Kimberly Rose-Jones (Bridgetown) will show paintings alongside prints by Fay Dunstan (Manjimup), sculpture by Dan Robertson (Manjimup) and ephemeral art by Julie Cox (Roelands).
The Wild Cards group formed late last year in response to a workshop facilitated by arts marketing guru, Paula Silbert, supported by the Shire of Manjimup and Country Arts WA’s Regional Arts Fund.
The Wild Cards title references the often unpredictable nature of creativity and the potential of each participating artist to surprise, challenge and delight, whether their suit be paint, print, wood or fibre.
